Game Report 28.05.15 50SS Levy vs Seamus

 Game report - 28.05.2015

50SS Levy (daniello_s) vs Seamus (Mike)

Deployment: Standard Deployment
Strategy: Collect the Bounty (Gaining Grounds 2015)

Schemes: ALITS, Breakthrough, Bodyguard, Make Them Suffer, Deliver the Message

Mike brought:
Seamus (7SS pool) - Bag o'Tools, Mad Hatter, Red Chapel Killer

2x Rotten Belle

4x Flesh Construct
Nurse
Graveyard Spirit

I took:
Leveticus (4SS pool) - Tally Sheet, To the Earth Return
Rusty Alyce
2x Hollow Waif
Ashes and Dust - Scramble
Hannah
Hodgepodge Effigy
Freikorps Librarian

Seamus picked: ALITS and Breakthrough (both revealed)
I took Bodyguard (Hannah) and Breakthrough (not revealed).

For some reason I didn't took Deliver the Message although I had super-fast Ashes and Dust. I could also take Make them Suffer but I wasn't sure if I manage to kill enough Flesh Constructs with Levy :D

 Table setup:

Unfortunately I had to deploy first

Turn 1
Seamus won initiative but he decided to give Levy a go first.
As usual turn 1 was about movement and positioning models but Seamus wouldn't be himself if he didn't try to kill one of the Waif. He used extended version of Back Alley, focused and killes Waif who was sitting in soft cover (Red Joker on damage by the way...).
The good thing was he was within range of Librarian (who was already activated) and Rusty, however he was in hard cover from her. Rusty tried to shoot him 3 times with no effect at all...
At the end of the turn I made mistake and unburied Levy in wrong position. I should do that in the middle section of the table so I could move and shoot twice Seamus in the next turn...

Upkeep phase - No VP scored on either side; Score after turn 1: Levy 0 - Seamus 0

Turn 2
Seamus won initiative. Levy spent soulstone to snatch initiative, then Seamus tried same but with no success.
Librarian put Furious Casting on Seamus leaving him with some damage (loads of damage prevention on Seamus' side).
Then Seamus focused, shot Rusty and cheated Red Joker on damage - Rusty spent a soulstone for damage prevention but she needed severe card to survive - she succeeded leaving her on the last wound.
A&D moved and charged Seamus hitting him twice including one Red Joker on the damage but Seamus spent another soulstone on damage prevention and dropped hat to negate killing blow from A&D.
Now if I had Levy nearby I would possibly kill Seamus but he was too far...
Belles used their absolutely broken Lure to push A&D to base contact with them healing Seamus 3 times (6 wounds healed).
Rusty moved and shoot Seamus but he prevented all the damage again. Hananh tried to Make a New Entry on Librarian and her healing to help Rusty but failed.
That was the moment I knew I'm screwed....

Upkeep phase - No VP scored on either side; Score after turn 2: Levy 0 - Seamus 0

Turn 3
Levy won initiative and tried to hit Seamus but he didn't make huge damage (or even big damage...).
Then Seamus focused, killed Alyce and retreated in to the cover.
A&D tried to kill Belle but left her on the last wound only. Belle lured him (healing nearby Seamus of course) and killed A&D (Pounce).
Flesh Construct moved and with one swing killed second Waif.
Rest of the undead crew started to drop scheme markers.
Dust Storm tried to swing at Nurse with no effect. Other Belle lured Dust Storm away from Nurse and Seamus.

Upkeep phase - Seamus +1VP for Strategy; Score after turn 3: Levy 0 - Seamus 1

Turn 4
Seamus won initiative.
Flesh Construct charged Levy hitting him with 3 damage.
Levy tried to swing back and left Flesh Construct on the last wound and then Librarian finished him off.
Ashen Storm killed Belle, moved into base contact with Core and initialized reforming into A&D.
Seamus tried to stop that with no effect.
I moved Hannah and Hodgepodge on the left flank where single Flesh Construct was lurking. Hogdgepodge withstand Construct's charge and swing back. Then Hannah joined the fight with the little effect. I announced Bodyguard.
Undead crew dropped more scheme markers.
A&D came back to life...

Upkeep phase - Levy +1VP for Strategy, +1VP for Bodyguard; Score after turn 4: Levy 2 - Seamus 1

Turn 5
Levy won initiative and started killing spree.
He killed Flesh Construct (Red Joker on damage) and Nurse.

Flesh Construct damage Hannah moderately (3 damage). Hannah tried to finish him off but I had no luck with her swings...

A&D moved out of engagement with Belle and Seamus, dropped scheme marker and moved back close to his opponents.
Due to the time shortage we decided to call the game.
Mike said he would try to put some damage on Hannah to refuse me full VP for Bodyguard so he used Back Alley with nearby corpse marker, moved and shoot into the Hannah-Hodgepodge-Flesh Construct party hitting Flesh Construct :D

After that we called the game.

Upkeep phase - Levy +1VP for Strategy, +2VP for Bodyguard, +1VP for Breakthrough; Seamus +3VP for ALITS, +3VP for Breakthrough

Final score: Levy 6 - Seamus 7

Because I made so many mistakes during a game I'm quite happy with the result.
After all my efforts during turn 2 to kill Seamus failed, loss of Rusty and A&D being too far to do his job I was close to call the game but thanfully I played it till the end.

Till next time!
